Indication
- Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Healing of erosive reflux oesophagitis - Treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers - Part of regimens to eradicate Helicobacter pylori
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole 40 mg
Direction
Take one tablet (40 mg) once daily, swallowed whole with liquid, preferably before a meal. Do not chew or crush.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhoea or constipation
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain or flatulence
Precautions
- Rule out gastric malignancy before treatment when alarm symptoms are present
- Long
- term use may reduce magnesium and vitamin B12 levels
- May increase risk of bone fractures and intestinal infections
- Use with caution in severe liver impairment
