Indication
- Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, sinusitis, pneumonia) - Skin and soft tissue infections - Mouth and dental infections - Alternative for patients allergic to penicillin
Ingredients
- Erythromycin 250 mg
Direction
Adults: usually 250 mg every 6 hours, or as prescribed. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Loss of appetite
- Skin rash
- Rare liver enzyme changes
Precautions
- Avoid in known hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics
- Use with caution in liver impairment
- May interact with many drugs (e.g. statins
- warfarin)
- inform your doctor of other medicines
- Caution in patients with cardiac arrhythmia or QT prolongation
