Indication

- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Healing of erosive esophagitis - Prevention and treatment of NSAID-associated gastric ulcers - Part of regimens to eradicate Helicobacter pylori

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole 20 mg

Direction

Adults: usually 20 mg once daily, or as prescribed. Swallow whole with water, preferably before a meal; do not chew or crush.

Side effects

• Headache
• Diarrhea or constipation
• Abdominal pain
• Nausea or flatulence
• Rare allergic reactions

Precautions

• Avoid in known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors
• Exclude gastric malignancy before prolonged use if alarm symptoms are present
• Long
• term use may affect magnesium levels and vitamin B12 absorption
• Use with caution in severe liver impairment
