Indication
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Healing of erosive esophagitis - Prevention and treatment of NSAID-associated gastric ulcers - Part of regimens to eradicate Helicobacter pylori
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole 20 mg
Direction
Adults: usually 20 mg once daily, or as prescribed. Swallow whole with water, preferably before a meal; do not chew or crush.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea or flatulence
- Rare allergic reactions
Precautions
- Avoid in known hypersensitivity to esomeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors
- Exclude gastric malignancy before prolonged use if alarm symptoms are present
- Long
- term use may affect magnesium levels and vitamin B12 absorption
- Use with caution in severe liver impairment
