Indication

- Anaerobic bacterial infections - Amoebiasis (intestinal and hepatic) - Giardiasis - Trichomoniasis

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 200 mg/5 mL

Direction

Take orally with or after food; dose and duration depend on the infection and the patient's weight, as prescribed by a physician.

Side effects

• Nausea and metallic taste
• Loss of appetite
• Headache and dizziness
• Dark
• coloured urine
• Rarely peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during and for 48 hours after treatment (disulfiram
• like reaction)
• Use with caution in liver impairment
• May cause a metallic taste and dark urine
• Avoid in the first trimester of pregnancy unless essential
