Cefiget 100 mg/5 mL

Indication

- Otitis media (middle ear infection) - Pharyngitis and tonsillitis - Acute bronchitis and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis - Uncomplicated urinary tract infections - Uncomplicated gonorrhoea

Ingredients

• Cefixime 100 mg/5 mL

Direction

Shake well before use. Usual pediatric dose is 8 mg/kg/day given once daily or in two divided doses. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve.

Side effects

• Diarrhoea and loose stools
• Nausea and abdominal pain
• Headache or dizziness
• Skin rash
• Rarely
• allergic reactions including hypersensitivity

Precautions

• Avoid in patients with known cephalosporin allergy
• Use with caution in penicillin
• allergic patients (cross
• reactivity)
• Use with caution in renal impairment
• Prolonged use may cause superinfection or antibiotic
• associated diarrhoea
