Indication

- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Healing of erosive esophagitis - Treatment and prevention of gastric and duodenal ulcers - Eradication of Helicobacter pylori (with antibiotics) - Zollinger-Ellison syndrome

Ingredients

• Esomeprazole 40 mg

Direction

Take one tablet (40 mg) once daily, preferably in the morning before a meal; swallow whole with water. Use the dose and duration prescribed by a physician.

Side effects

• Headache
• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhea or constipation
• Nausea and flatulence
• Dizziness

Precautions

• Rule out malignancy before treating gastric ulcers
• as it may mask symptoms
• Long
• term use may reduce magnesium and vitamin B12 levels and increase fracture risk
• May increase risk of gastrointestinal infections
• Use with caution in severe hepatic impairment
