Indication
- Respiratory tract infections - Acne vulgaris and rosacea - Malaria prophylaxis - Lyme disease - Chlamydia and other STIs - Anthrax (post-exposure) - Periodontitis
Ingredients
- Doxycycline
Direction
Take orally with a full glass of water. Remain upright for at least 30 to 60 minutes after administration to prevent esophageal irritation.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Photosensitivity (easy sunburning)
- Esophageal irritation or ulceration
- Vaginal yeast infection
- Loss of appetite
Precautions
- May cause permanent tooth discoloration in children
- Increases risk of severe sunburn (photosensitivity)
- Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Avoid taking with dairy
- antacids
- or iron
- May reduce effectiveness of oral contraceptives
