Colodium 2 mg

Indication

- Symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea - Symptomatic treatment of chronic diarrhea - Reduction of stool frequency in ileostomy patients

Ingredients

• Loperamide hydrochloride 2 mg

Direction

Adults: initially 2 capsules (4 mg), then 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool; do not exceed 8 mg/day for acute diarrhea (16 mg/day under medical supervision).

Side effects

• Constipation
• Abdominal cramps or bloating
• Nausea
• Dizziness
• Dry mouth

Precautions

• Do not use in acute dysentery (blood in stool with fever)
• Avoid in children under 6 years
• Stop and seek care if no improvement within 48 hours
• Maintain adequate fluid and electrolyte intake
