Metro-MS 500 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of intestinal amoebiasis, asymptomatic amoebiasis, hepatic amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis, and infections caused by anaerobic bacteria including Clostridium perfringens and Bacteroides fragilis.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 500 mg

Direction

Take as directed by your physician. For intestinal amoebiasis (acute form): 2g single dose in adults. For asymptomatic form: 30mg/kg/day in children (single daily dose). For hepatic amoebiasis: 1.5g per day for adults in several doses at start of meals for 5 days.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• Metallic taste in mouth
• Headache
• dizziness
• Peripheral neuropathy with prolonged use

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during treatment
• Use with caution in patients with neurological disorders
• Not for use in first trimester of pregnancy
• Keep out of reach of children
