Indication
- Reduces risk of heart attack and stroke (antiplatelet therapy) - Used for cardiovascular prophylaxis in at-risk patients - Low-dose maintenance therapy as advised by a doctor
Ingredients
- Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) 81 mg
Direction
Take one 81 mg tablet daily with water, or as directed by a physician. Swallow whole; do not use as self-medication for cardiovascular prevention without medical advice.
Side effects
- Stomach upset
- heartburn or nausea
- Increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding
- Easy bruising or prolonged bleeding
- Allergic reactions (rash
- wheezing)
Precautions
- Avoid in active peptic ulcer or bleeding disorders
- Not recommended for children/teenagers (risk of Reye's syndrome)
- Use with caution if asthmatic or allergic to NSAIDs
- Inform doctor before surgery or if pregnant
