Indication
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) - Narcolepsy
Ingredients
- Methylphenidate hydrochloride 10 mg
Direction
Take orally as prescribed, usually in divided doses before breakfast and lunch; dose is individualized by the physician. Avoid late afternoon or evening doses to prevent insomnia.
Side effects
- Decreased appetite and weight loss
- Insomnia
- Nervousness or irritability
- Headache
- Increased heart rate and blood pressure
Precautions
- Potential for dependence and abuse
- controlled substance
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
- hypertension
- anxiety
- or history of seizures
- Monitor growth
- blood pressure and heart rate during treatment
- Avoid in patients taking MAO inhibitors
