Indication

- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) - Narcolepsy

Ingredients

• Methylphenidate hydrochloride 10 mg

Direction

Take orally as prescribed, usually in divided doses before breakfast and lunch; dose is individualized by the physician. Avoid late afternoon or evening doses to prevent insomnia.

Side effects

• Decreased appetite and weight loss
• Insomnia
• Nervousness or irritability
• Headache
• Increased heart rate and blood pressure

Precautions

• Potential for dependence and abuse
• controlled substance
• Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
• hypertension
• anxiety
• or history of seizures
• Monitor growth
• blood pressure and heart rate during treatment
• Avoid in patients taking MAO inhibitors
