Indication
- Respiratory tract infections (e.g. pneumonia, bronchitis) - Ear, nose and throat infections - Skin and soft tissue infections - Certain sexually transmitted infections
Ingredients
- Azithromycin 500 mg
Direction
Usually 500 mg once daily for 3 days, or as prescribed by the physician. Take at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting or diarrhoea
- Abdominal pain
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Rarely
- allergic reactions or QT prolongation
Precautions
- Inform doctor of liver
- kidney
- or heart rhythm (QT prolongation) problems
- Use with caution alongside other QT
- prolonging drugs
- Tell doctor about any allergy to macrolide antibiotics
- Complete the full prescribed course to avoid resistance
