Indication

- Anxiety disorders and short-term relief of anxiety - Muscle spasm and spasticity - Acute alcohol withdrawal - Adjunct in certain seizure disorders

Ingredients

• Diazepam 10 mg

Direction

Take orally as prescribed by a physician; dose individualized to indication and patient. Use lowest effective dose for the shortest time. Reduce dose in the elderly; do not stop abruptly.

Side effects

• Drowsiness and sedation
• Muscle weakness and fatigue
• Dizziness and unsteadiness
• Confusion (especially in the elderly)
• Dependence with prolonged use

Precautions

• Risk of dependence
• tolerance and withdrawal
• benzodiazepine misuse risk
• Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants (especially opioids)
• May impair driving and use of machines
• Caution in respiratory insufficiency
• hepatic impairment
• myasthenia gravis and the elderly
