Avestalo 10mg

Indication

- Major depressive disorder - Generalised anxiety disorder - Panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia - Social anxiety disorder (social phobia) - Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Ingredients

• Escitalopram 10 mg (as escitalopram oxalate)

Direction

Take by mouth once daily, with or without food; usual starting dose is 10 mg daily, adjusted by the physician up to 20 mg daily.

Side effects

• Nausea
• diarrhoea or constipation
• Headache and dizziness
• Insomnia or somnolence
• Sexual dysfunction
• Sweating
• dry mouth and decreased appetite

Precautions

• Increased risk of suicidal thoughts
• especially early in treatment and in young adults
• Do not use with or within 14 days of MAO inhibitors
• risk of serotonin syndrome
• Use caution with bleeding risk
• seizures
• or QT prolongation
• Do not stop abruptly
• taper to avoid withdrawal symptoms
