Indication
- Treatment of neuropathic pain (e.g. diabetic neuropathy) - Treatment of postherpetic neuralgia - Adjunctive therapy for partial seizures (epilepsy)
Ingredients
- Gabapentin 100 mg
Direction
Take orally with the dose gradually titrated by a physician; may be taken with or without food, and should not be stopped abruptly.
Side effects
- Drowsiness and somnolence
- Dizziness
- Ataxia (unsteady movements)
- Fatigue
- Peripheral edema (swelling)
Precautions
- Do not stop suddenly
- taper to avoid withdrawal or rebound seizures
- Dose adjustment required in renal impairment
- May cause drowsiness and dizziness
- caution when driving
- Watch for mood changes or suicidal thoughts
