Izalgi 500mg/25mg

Indication

- Treatment of moderate to severe acute pain - Used when level 1 analgesics (e.g. paracetamol alone) are insufficient

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 500 mg + opium powder 25 mg

Direction

Usually one capsule up to 3 times a day, swallowed with water; do not exceed the prescribed dose and keep total paracetamol below 4 g/day. Take as directed by a physician.

Side effects

• Constipation
• nausea
• vomiting
• Drowsiness and dizziness
• Risk of physical dependence with prolonged use
• Rarely
• liver toxicity from paracetamol overdose

Precautions

• Risk of dependence due to opium content
• avoid prolonged use
• Do not combine with other paracetamol
• containing products (overdose risk)
• Avoid alcohol and use with caution in liver impairment
• Avoid with other opioids and CNS depressants
