Indication
- Short-term treatment of anxiety - Anxiety associated with insomnia - Premedication before surgery or anxiety-provoking procedures
Ingredients
- Lorazepam 2.5 mg
Direction
Take by mouth as prescribed, usually a divided dose during the day; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time. Do not stop abruptly.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- sedation
- fatigue
- Dizziness and unsteadiness
- Memory impairment (amnesia)
- Confusion
- especially in the elderly
- Dependence with long
- term use
Precautions
- Risk of dependence and withdrawal
- avoid prolonged use
- Causes drowsiness — avoid driving and operating machinery
- Avoid alcohol and opioids (risk of severe respiratory depression)
- Use with caution in the elderly
- respiratory or liver impairment
