Pepto Bismol Ultra 525 mg per 15 mL

Indication

- Relief of diarrhea - Upset stomach and indigestion - Heartburn - Nausea

Ingredients

• Bismuth subsalicylate 525 mg/15 mL

Direction

Adults and children 12 years and over: take 30 mL (two doses of 15 mL) every 30 to 60 minutes as needed; do not exceed 8 doses in 24 hours. Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Temporary darkening of stool and tongue
• Constipation
• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) with overuse
• Nausea

Precautions

• Do not use in children or teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu (risk of Reye's syndrome)
• Avoid if allergic to salicylates or taking other salicylates/aspirin
• May cause harmless temporary darkening of the stool and tongue
• Use with caution in pregnancy and if taking anticoagulants
