Indication
- Relief of diarrhea - Upset stomach and indigestion - Heartburn - Nausea
Ingredients
- Bismuth subsalicylate 525 mg/15 mL
Direction
Adults and children 12 years and over: take 30 mL (two doses of 15 mL) every 30 to 60 minutes as needed; do not exceed 8 doses in 24 hours. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Temporary darkening of stool and tongue
- Constipation
- Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) with overuse
- Nausea
Precautions
- Do not use in children or teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu (risk of Reye's syndrome)
- Avoid if allergic to salicylates or taking other salicylates/aspirin
- May cause harmless temporary darkening of the stool and tongue
- Use with caution in pregnancy and if taking anticoagulants
