Indication
- Temporary relief of common cold and flu symptoms - Nasal and sinus congestion - Cough from throat and bronchial irritation - Headache, fever, sore throat and minor aches - Nighttime relief to help rest (NyQuil)
Ingredients
- Acetaminophen 325 mg with dextromethorphan and phenylephrine
- plus guaifenesin (DayQuil) and doxylamine (NyQuil)
Direction
Adults and children 12 years and over: take DayQuil during the day and NyQuil at night as directed on the package; do not exceed the labeled dose and avoid other products containing acetaminophen.
Side effects
- Drowsiness (especially NyQuil)
- Nervousness
- dizziness or sleeplessness
- Nausea or stomach upset
- Increased blood pressure or fast heartbeat
Precautions
- Do not exceed the recommended dose
- acetaminophen overdose can cause serious liver damage
- Avoid alcohol and other products containing acetaminophen
- NyQuil may cause drowsiness
- do not drive after taking it
- Caution with high blood pressure
- heart disease or MAO inhibitors
