Indication

- Symptomatic treatment of moderate to severe pain - Pain not adequately controlled by weaker analgesics

Ingredients

• Dihydrocodeine tartrate 60 mg (prolonged
• release)

Direction

Usually one 60 mg prolonged-release tablet swallowed whole every 12 hours; do not crush or chew. Take exactly as prescribed by a doctor.

Side effects

• Constipation
• nausea and vomiting
• Drowsiness
• dizziness and headache
• Dry mouth
• Respiratory depression (with overdose)

Precautions

• Risk of dependence
• tolerance and respiratory depression with opioids
• Avoid alcohol and other central nervous system depressants
• Use with caution in respiratory impairment
• head injury or raised intracranial pressure
• Not recommended in pregnancy
• breastfeeding or severe hepatic/renal impairment without medical advice
