Indication
- Symptomatic treatment of moderate to severe pain - Pain not adequately controlled by weaker analgesics
Ingredients
- Dihydrocodeine tartrate 60 mg (prolonged
- release)
Direction
Usually one 60 mg prolonged-release tablet swallowed whole every 12 hours; do not crush or chew. Take exactly as prescribed by a doctor.
Side effects
- Constipation
- nausea and vomiting
- Drowsiness
- dizziness and headache
- Dry mouth
- Respiratory depression (with overdose)
Precautions
- Risk of dependence
- tolerance and respiratory depression with opioids
- Avoid alcohol and other central nervous system depressants
- Use with caution in respiratory impairment
- head injury or raised intracranial pressure
- Not recommended in pregnancy
- breastfeeding or severe hepatic/renal impairment without medical advice
