Ascoril 2 mg / 8 mg / 100 mg per uncoated tablet

Indication

Bronchodilator, mucolytic and expectorant. For the symptomatic relief of productive cough associated with bronchitis, bronchial asthma, emphysema and other respiratory conditions where bronchospasm with thick, sticky mucus is a feature.

Ingredients

• Salbutamol Sulphate equivalent to Salbutamol 2 mg
• Bromhexine Hydrochloride 8 mg
• Guaifenesin 100 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usual adult dose: 1 tablet three times a day or as advised by the doctor.

Side effects

• Mild tremor
• especially of the hands.
• Headache
• nervousness
• palpitations.
• Nausea
• vomiting or gastrointestinal upset.
• Rare allergic reactions including skin rash.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe reactions occur.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with hyperthyroidism
• hypertension
• diabetes mellitus or heart disease.
• Inform your doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Avoid use with other sympathomimetic bronchodilators unless prescribed.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if cough persists for more than one week or is accompanied by high fever.
• Stop use and consult a doctor if palpitations or tremor become troublesome.
