Indication
Prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency during situations and conditions with requirement or increased risk of deficiencies.
Ingredients
- Ascorbic Acid 1 g per 5 ml ampoule
- Sodium hydroxide q.s. pH 6.8
Direction
One ampoule per day by intravenous injection. Prevention and treatment of deficiencies: 500 to 1000 mg daily. For adults and children above 12 years.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal disturbance with high doses.
- Risk of kidney stones with prolonged high
- dose use.
- Hypersensitivity reactions including rash
- stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if a reaction occurs.
- Pain or burning at the injection site.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid or excipients.
- Contraindicated in nephrolithiasis or history of nephrolithiasis
- hyperoxaluria
- severe renal insufficiency or renal failure
- haemochromatosis
- and individuals with sensitivity to sulphur.
- Use under medical supervision.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
