Levothyrox 50 µg per scored tablet

Indication

Hormone replacement therapy in hypothyroidism of any cause in adults and children; treatment of euthyroid goiter and after surgical or radioiodine treatment of thyroid carcinoma; suppression therapy for benign thyroid nodules.

Ingredients

• Levothyroxine sodique 50.00 µg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usually taken once daily, in the morning, on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before breakfast, with a glass of water. Dose is individualized based on TSH monitoring.

Side effects

• Signs of overdose: palpitations
• tremor
• insomnia
• weight loss
• sweating
• heat intolerance.
• Headache.
• Allergic skin reactions (rare).
• Menstrual irregularities.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe reactions occur.

Precautions

• Use only under medical supervision with regular thyroid function monitoring.
• Inform your doctor of any heart disease
• hypertension
• diabetes or adrenal insufficiency.
• Take at the same time each day
• do not change brand or dose without consulting your doctor.
• Several medicines and foods (calcium
• iron
• soy) can reduce absorption
• separate by at least 4 hours.
• Inform your doctor if pregnant
• planning pregnancy or breastfeeding (dose may need adjustment).
