Indication
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Gastric and duodenal ulcers - Zollinger-Ellison syndrome - H. pylori eradication (combination therapy) - Prevention of NSAID-induced ulcers
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole
Direction
Take orally once daily, usually 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast. Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Flatulence
- Constipation
Precautions
- May mask gastric malignancy symptoms
- Risk of bone fractures (long
- term use)
- Risk of Clostridium difficile infection
- Potential for Vitamin B12 deficiency
- Kidney function monitoring recommended
