Indication

Treatment of oedema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and renal disease; also used in the management of hypertension.

Ingredients

Direction

As directed by the physician. Take with or without food; doses are usually taken in the morning to avoid disturbing sleep with frequent urination.

Side effects

• May cause increased urination
• dehydration
• low blood pressure
• electrolyte disturbances (low potassium
• sodium
• magnesium)
• dizziness or muscle cramps.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any reaction is severe or persistent.

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially in pregnancy
• breastfeeding
• kidney or liver disease
• gout
• diabetes or electrolyte disturbances.
• Monitor for signs of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance (cramps
• confusion
• weakness).
• Stop use and seek medical advice if severe dizziness
• fainting
• marked decrease in urine output
• hearing changes or any allergic reaction occurs.
