Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when dietary management and exercise alone do not result in adequate glycaemic control.

Ingredients

• Metformin Hydrochloride

Direction

Take orally as directed by the physician, usually with or after meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

Side effects

• May cause gastrointestinal upset (nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain)
• metallic taste
• decreased appetite
• or vitamin B12 deficiency on long
• term use.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any reaction is severe or persistent.

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially in kidney or liver impairment
• heart failure
• severe infection
• dehydration or before contrast imaging.
• Avoid excessive alcohol intake while taking this medicine due to the risk of lactic acidosis.
• Stop use and seek medical advice immediately if severe nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• muscle pain
• difficulty breathing or unusual weakness occurs.
