Indication
Adjunct treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients whose hyperglycaemia is not adequately controlled by diet, exercise, and either metformin or a sulphonylurea alone.
Ingredients
- Glibenclamide
- Metformin Hydrochloride
Direction
As directed by the physician. Refer to the package insert for full dosage information. Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal upset and the risk of hypoglycaemia.
Side effects
- May cause hypoglycaemia
- gastrointestinal upset (nausea
- diarrhoea
- abdominal pain)
- metallic taste
- weight gain
- or skin rash.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any reaction is severe or persistent.
Precautions
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially in kidney or liver impairment
- heart failure
- severe infection
- dehydration or before contrast imaging.
- Be aware of the symptoms of hypoglycaemia (sweating
- shakiness
- confusion) and how to manage them
- avoid alcohol due to risk of lactic acidosis and severe low blood sugar.
- Stop use and seek medical advice immediately if severe abdominal pain
- vomiting
- muscle pain
- difficulty breathing
- unusual weakness or any allergic reaction occurs.
