Getformin 2 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Adjunct treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients whose hyperglycaemia is not adequately controlled by diet, exercise, and either glimepiride or metformin alone.

Ingredients

• Glimepiride
• Metformin Hydrochloride

Direction

As directed by the physician. Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal upset and the risk of hypoglycaemia. Refer to the package insert for full dosing.

Side effects

• May cause hypoglycaemia
• gastrointestinal upset (nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain)
• metallic taste
• weight gain
• or skin rash.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any reaction is severe or persistent.

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially in kidney or liver impairment
• heart failure
• severe infection
• dehydration or before contrast imaging.
• Be aware of the symptoms of hypoglycaemia (sweating
• shakiness
• confusion) and how to manage them
• avoid alcohol due to risk of lactic acidosis and severe low blood sugar.
• Stop use and seek medical advice immediately if severe abdominal pain
• vomiting
• muscle pain
• difficulty breathing
• unusual weakness or any allergic reaction occurs.
