Indication
Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate.
Ingredients
- Empagliflozin 5 mg
- Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg
Direction
Take orally as directed by the physician. Refer to the package insert for full prescribing information.
Side effects
- May cause genital or urinary tract infections
- dehydration
- hypoglycaemia (when used with sulfonylureas or insulin)
- gastrointestinal upset
- or metallic taste.
- Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe muscle pain
- difficulty breathing
- ketoacidosis symptoms
- or allergic reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Prescription
- only medicine.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use in renal impairment
- dehydration
- recurrent urinary or genital infections
- or before surgery.
- Monitor for ketoacidosis even with normal blood glucose levels.
- Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation
- allergy
- or unusual symptoms occur.
