Diabetmin Retard 850 mg

Indication

Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone do not achieve adequate glycaemic control. Slow-release formulation improves gastrointestinal tolerance.

Ingredients

• Metformin Hydrochloride 850 mg (slow release)

Direction

Take orally as prescribed by the physician. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew.

Side effects

• May cause gastrointestinal upset
• diarrhoea
• nausea
• abdominal discomfort
• metallic taste
• or vitamin B12 deficiency on long
• term use.
• Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe muscle pain
• unusual weakness
• or allergic reaction occurs.

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use in renal or hepatic impairment
• heart failure
• dehydration
• or before procedures with iodinated contrast.
• Discontinue temporarily before surgery and during acute illness.
• Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation
• allergy
• or signs of lactic acidosis occur.
