Lipiget 10 mg

Indication

A lipid-regulating agent used to lower high total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, apolipoprotein B and triglyceride levels, and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with elevated lipids or other risk factors.

Ingredients

• Atorvastatin calcium trihydrate

Direction

As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food.

Side effects

• May cause headache
• abdominal pain
• constipation
• nausea
• muscle pain or abnormal liver enzymes.
• Seek immediate medical advice if severe muscle pain
• signs of liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes)
• or allergic reactions occur.

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if you have liver disease
• kidney impairment
• hypothyroidism
• or a history of muscle disorders.
• Avoid large amounts of grapefruit juice and tell your doctor about all medicines you take
• including cyclosporine
• certain antibiotics
• antifungals and HIV protease inhibitors.
• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Stop use and contact your doctor if unexplained muscle pain
• tenderness or weakness occurs
• particularly with fever or dark
• coloured urine.
