Indication
Lowers high cholesterol and triglyceride levels and reduces the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke in patients with elevated lipids or other risk factors.
Ingredients
- Rosuvastatin calcium
Direction
See package insert for full prescribing information or as directed by the physician. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food.
Side effects
- May cause headache
- muscle pain
- weakness
- abdominal pain
- nausea
- constipation or abnormal liver enzymes.
- Seek immediate medical advice if severe muscle pain
- signs of liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes)
- or allergic reactions occur.
Precautions
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially if you have liver disease
- kidney disease
- thyroid problems
- a history of muscle disorders
- or are of Asian descent.
- Avoid alcohol and tell your doctor about all medicines you take
- including cyclosporine
- gemfibrozil
- antifungals and HIV protease inhibitors.
- Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Stop use and contact your doctor if unexplained muscle pain
- tenderness or weakness occurs
- particularly with fever or dark
- coloured urine.
