Indication
Used in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and adolescents and for chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in adults.
Ingredients
- Tenofovir alafenamide
Direction
As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information. To be sold on prescription of a registered medical practitioner only.
Side effects
- May cause headache
- nausea
- diarrhea
- fatigue
- and abnormal liver enzymes.
- Some users may experience changes in body fat
- kidney function abnormalities
- or bone density loss.
- Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe abdominal pain
- signs of liver problems (yellowing of skin/eyes)
- or allergic reactions occur.
Precautions
- Use only under medical supervision
- HIV resistance testing should guide therapy.
- Inform your doctor about any kidney
- liver
- or bone problems before starting treatment.
- Do not stop the medicine without consulting your doctor
- as this may cause flare
- up of hepatitis B.
