Klamentin 250 mg / 31.25 mg

Indication

Treatment of bacterial infections including otitis media, sinusitis, respiratory tract infections, and other susceptible infections in children and adults.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin
• Clavulanic acid

Direction

Dissolve the granules of one sachet in 5-10 ml of water and stir well before use. Take immediately before meals to reduce gastric upset. Usual paediatric dose: 45 mg/kg/day in two divided doses for severe infections; 25 mg/kg/day in two divided doses for less severe infections. Duration 5-10 days, not exceeding 14 days. Use as directed by physician.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• rash
• or oral thrush. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen
• stop and seek urgent care for severe allergy or persistent watery diarrhoea.

Precautions

• Do not use if allergic to penicillins
• cephalosporins
• or any component of the product. Inform your doctor of any kidney or liver problems
• history of jaundice
• or other medication. Stop and seek medical help immediately if rash
• breathing difficulty
• or severe diarrhoea develops.
