Indication
Second-generation cephalosporin oral suspension indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, urinary tract, and skin in children and adults.
Ingredients
- Cefaclor
Direction
Reconstitute by adding freshly boiled and cooled water up to the mark on the bottle. Shake vigorously, then adjust the volume up to the mark by adding more water if necessary. This makes 60 ml of suspension. The constituted suspension should be consumed within 7 days and stored between 2 to 8 C. Dose as directed by the physician.
Side effects
- May cause diarrhoea
- nausea
- vomiting
- rash
- or oral thrush. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist or worsen
- and seek urgent care for severe allergic reaction or persistent watery diarrhoea.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to cephalosporins or penicillins. Inform your doctor of any kidney problems
- gastrointestinal disease
- pregnancy
- breastfeeding
- or other medication. Stop and seek medical attention immediately if rash
- breathing difficulty
- or severe diarrhoea occurs.
