Indication
HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) indicated as an adjunct to diet to reduce elevated total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and triglycerides, and to slow the progression of atherosclerosis in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidaemia.
Ingredients
- Rosuvastatin
Direction
Take one film-coated tablet orally once daily, with or without food, as directed by your physician. Swallow whole with water. The dose may be adjusted by the prescriber based on lipid response and tolerability.
Side effects
- May cause headache
- muscle pain
- abdominal pain
- nausea
- constipation
- dizziness
- or raised liver enzymes. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist
- and seek urgent care for severe muscle pain
- dark urine
- severe allergic reaction
- or signs of liver problems.
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to rosuvastatin
- if you have active liver disease
- during pregnancy or breastfeeding
- or if you have severe kidney impairment. Inform your doctor of muscle disorders
- thyroid problems
- alcohol use
- or other medication. Stop the medicine and consult a doctor immediately if you experience unexplained muscle pain
- tenderness
- or weakness.
