Indication
Topical short-term symptomatic treatment of painful flare-ups of osteoarthritis (arthrose), and the local treatment of benign traumatic conditions such as sprains, contusions and pain of muscular or tendino-ligamentous origin in adults and adolescents from 15 years.
Ingredients
- Diclofénac de diéthylamine 1.16 g per 100 g gel (equivalent to Diclofenac Sodium 1 g per 100 g
- i.e. 1% w/w)
Direction
Adults and adolescents from 15 years: apply a thin layer of gel to the painful area 3-4 times daily and massage gently and prolongedly. Wash hands after application unless they are the area being treated. Do not use for longer than the duration indicated in the leaflet without medical advice.
Side effects
- Local skin reactions: erythema
- itching
- burning sensation or dermatitis at the application site.
- Photosensitivity reactions on sun
- exposed treated skin.
- Rare hypersensitivity reactions including rash
- urticaria or angioedema.
- Very rare systemic effects (gastrointestinal
- renal or respiratory) with extensive or prolonged use.
- If severe irritation or an allergic reaction occurs
- stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- For external use only
- avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
- Do not use on broken skin
- open wounds
- eczematous or infected skin.
- Do not use during pregnancy (especially in the third trimester) or breastfeeding — product contraindicated in pregnant women per pack warning.
- Avoid occlusive dressings unless directed by a doctor.
- Avoid prolonged exposure of treated skin to direct sunlight or UV light due to risk of photosensitivity.
- Discontinue and consult a doctor or pharmacist if rash
- irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
