Indication
- Prophylaxis of chronic asthma - Seasonal allergic rhinitis - Perennial allergic rhinitis - Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction prevention
Ingredients
- Montelukast Sodium
Direction
Take orally once daily, typically in the evening for asthma or at any time of day for allergic rhinitis. Can be taken with or without food.
Side effects
- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Upper respiratory infection
- Dizziness
- Mood or behavior changes
Precautions
- Not for acute asthma attacks
- Monitor for neuropsychiatric/mood changes
- Do not abruptly substitute for corticosteroids
- Caution in patients with aspirin sensitivity
