Duphalac 667 mg/ml

Indication

Treatment of constipation (regulation of colonic physiological rhythm); used when soft stool is of medical benefit (haemorrhoids, post colonic/anal surgery); treatment and prevention of hepatic encephalopathy.

Direction

Adults/adolescents: 15-45 ml starting daily, 15-30 ml maintenance. Children 7-14 years: 15 ml starting, 10-15 ml maintenance. Children 1-6 years: 5-10 ml. Infants under 1 year: up to 5 ml.

Side effects

• May cause flatulence
• abdominal discomfort
• cramps or diarrhoea
• especially when starting therapy.
