Otrivin 1 mg/ml (0.1%)

Indication

Metered dose nasal spray for the relief of nasal congestion associated with colds, hay fever, sinusitis and other allergic conditions of the upper respiratory tract. Effectively relieves nasal congestion for up to 10 hours.

• Xylometazoline Hydrochloride

Direction

For adults and children over 12 years: 1 spray into each nostril as needed, not more than 3 times daily. Refer to the enclosed leaflet for full instructions. Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days. Read the instructions carefully before use.

Side effects

• Possible side effects include local burning or stinging
• sneezing
• dryness of nasal mucosa
• and rebound congestion if used for more than 7 days. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist or worsen.

Precautions

• hyperthyroidism
• diabetes
• glaucoma
• prostate enlargement
• or are taking MAO inhibitors or other antidepressants. Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if irritation or allergy occurs.
