Indication
Saline enema for the relief of occasional constipation. Used to soften stool and stimulate evacuation, including in pediatric use under guidance.
Ingredients
- Sodium chloride
Direction
For rectal use only. Remove cap and gently insert the nozzle into the rectum. Squeeze the bottle to expel the contents, then withdraw. Use as directed by a doctor or pharmacist, or as labeled. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Side effects
- May cause local rectal irritation
- mild cramping
- or transient electrolyte disturbance with repeated use. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if irritation
- persistent discomfort
- or allergy occurs.
Precautions
- For rectal use only. Do not use in the presence of nausea
- vomiting
- abdominal pain
- or undiagnosed rectal bleeding. Do not use in patients with intestinal obstruction or known sensitivity to ingredients. Use with caution in infants
- young children
