Indication
Local treatment of external otitis with non-perforated eardrum, caused by bacteria sensitive to neomycin and polymyxin B, with associated inflammation.
Ingredients
- Neomycin sulfate 650
- 000 IU per 100 mL
- Polymyxin B sulfate 1
- 000
- 000 IU per 100 mL
- Dexamethasone metasulfobenzoate sodium 0.100 g per 100 mL
Direction
Auricular instillation as directed by the physician. Do not swallow. Read the package insert carefully before use.
Side effects
- Local irritation
- burning sensation or allergic reactions may occur.
- Hypersensitivity reactions including rash and contact dermatitis have been reported.
- Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if irritation
- allergy
- or any unusual symptom develops.
Precautions
- For auricular use only. Do not swallow.
- Do not use in case of perforated eardrum.
- Do not use if hypersensitive to neomycin
- polymyxin B
- dexamethasone or any excipient.
- Polydexa during pregnancy may be dangerous
- do not use in pregnant women except in absence of therapeutic alternative.
- Contains thiomersal — may cause hypersensitivity reactions.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use during breastfeeding.
- Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
