Indication
- Prevention of pregnancy after unprotected intercourse - Contraceptive failure or suspected failure - Emergency contraception after sexual assault
Ingredients
- Levonorgestrel
Direction
Take one 1.5 mg tablet orally as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. If vomiting occurs within 2 to 3 hours of administration, a second dose should be taken immediately.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Fatigue and dizziness
- Headache
- Breast tenderness
- Lower abdominal pain
- Changes in menstrual bleeding
Precautions
- Not for regular contraceptive use
- Does not protect against STIs/HIV
- Not effective if already pregnant
- Does not induce abortion
- Consult doctor if period is late
