Indication

Oral antiviral indicated for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults with positive SARS-CoV-2 viral testing who are at high risk for progression to severe disease, including hospitalization or death, and for whom alternative COVID-19 treatment options are not accessible or clinically appropriate.

Ingredients

• Molnupiravir

Direction

Oral use. As directed by the physician. Typically 800 mg (4 × 200 mg capsules) twice daily for 5 days, started as soon as possible after diagnosis and within 5 days of symptom onset. Swallow capsules whole with water.

Side effects

• May cause diarrhoea

Precautions

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Effective contraception is advised for women of childbearing potential during treatment and for 4 days after the final dose. Males with female partners of reproductive potential should use reliable contraception for at least 3 months after the final dose. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
