Indication
Antiemetic (5-HT3 receptor antagonist) for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting, including chemotherapy-induced, radiotherapy-induced, and postoperative nausea and vomiting.
Ingredients
- Ondansetron (as Ondansetron Hydrochloride Dihydrate)
Direction
Oral use. As directed by the physician. Refer to the enclosed leaflet for posology. Typical adult dose is 8 mg taken 30 minutes to 1 hour before chemotherapy, followed by additional doses as prescribed.
Side effects
- May cause headache
- constipation
- flushing
- or QT
- interval prolongation. Seek medical advice immediately if you experience palpitations
- fainting
- severe rash
- or signs of serotonin syndrome. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
Precautions
- On medical prescription only. Use with caution in patients with congenital long QT syndrome
- electrolyte imbalance
- hepatic impairment
- or those taking other QT
- prolonging medications. Inform your doctor of pregnancy/breastfeeding. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
