Microflox-500 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to ciprofloxacin, including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gastrointestinal infections, and gonorrhoea.

Ingredients

• Ciprofloxacin (as ciprofloxacin hydrochloride)

Direction

Oral use. As directed by the physician. Swallow the film-coated tablet whole with a glass of water; avoid taking with dairy products or mineral-fortified drinks at the same time. Read the leaflet before use. Complete the full prescribed course.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• headache
• dizziness
• rash
• tendinitis. Always ask a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop and seek immediate advice if severe allergic reaction
• tendon pain
• persistent diarrhoea
• or unusual symptoms occur.

Precautions

• Prescription only (Rx). Do not use if allergic to ciprofloxacin or other fluoroquinolones. May cause tendinitis or tendon rupture
• especially in elderly patients or those on corticosteroids. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use
